Chilmark Hill is focused on distressed fixed income investing with a blend of “Private Equity” and “Hedge Fund” approaches. Most positions are held to maturity, ranging from 1-10 years. The firm has extensive experience in analyzing and trading a wide range of asset classes, and using technology as a competitive edge in the process. Transactions are done via a network of regional bond dealers as well as the large primary dealers in New York. Asset classes include Residential and Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities, Aircraft Leasing Deals, and Container/Railcar ABS. The firm often sets prices in markets where no pricing is available, or bids on securities which bank sellers need to liquidate.
